How many times have you said “I have hormone issues and that’s why I can’t lose weight.” But the real question you should be asking is: “Is it my hormones or is it really my gut?!” ?? We tend to think about our gut on the most basic level as where food is digested, but it’s so much more than that! Our guts are connected to our brains, our immune system, our endocrine system (hormones), and more! The bacteria in our gut not only help digest food but they make vitamins we can’t get from food, they provide protection from other bad bacteria that can make us sick, and they make things that help our bodies function. When our gut balance is disrupted it can cause obvious issues like constipation, diarrhea, bloating, gas, etc, but it can also cause other symptoms that show up elsewhere in the body that you may not think are connected to your gut. ?? The kicker is you may have symptoms of the later without having the obvious gut symptoms.
